Meet the Counselors
Bullitt Lick is fortunate to have a full time Counselor, Mrs. Fenwick and a half time Counselor, Mr. Turner. Mrs. Fenwick: Hello, Bobcats! Just a little about me, I have been married for 10 years and have two beautiful children(pictured above), Gavyn (6) and Chloe (3). When I am not at Bullitt Lick, I love spending time with Gavyn, Chloe, and of course my husband. We love the outdoors, sports, boating, and just hanging out. Before Bullitt Lick I was a teacher and Athletic Director in Jefferson Co. I have been at Bullitt Lick for about 14 years now and continue to love every day. I hope that during my time at Bullitt Lick I can assist each of our students in recognizing their potential and motivating them to learn to the best of their ability. Mr. Turner: Howdy! I love being part of Bobcat Nation. I work part time here at BLMS two or three days a week. I have been married for 22 years and have two grown children. I have 31 years experience in education and over 25 as a school counselor. I love to travel and explore our world. COUNSELING SERVICES Bullitt Lick Middle School Counseling Program follows the standards and guidelines set forth by the American School Counseling Association. It is designed to meet the academic, social, emotional and physical needs of our students. In addition, we strive to prepare our students for life behind high school by exposing them to college and career readiness. We achieve all of this in several ways: Individual Counseling: Students, parents and/or teachers may request that students meet with the school counselor. Although parents will be informed of how their child is doing in counselor, it is important to remember that what is said in the counseling office is considered confidential information. Unless a child is threatening to hurt themselves or someone else, exact conversations and specific information will not be shared with any one. Students come see the counselor for a variety of reasons, including but not limited to:
Group Counseling Groups allow for students to connect with other students that are going through or have gone through similar situations. Groups usually last for 4-6 weeks. Below is a list of possible small groups that will be offered this school year.
OUTSIDE RESOURCES Mrs. Fenwick and Mr. Turner have came access to many outside resources if you believe your student may be in need of more intensive services. These include, but are not limited to:
Additionally, if your family has any needs related to school or success at home, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Fenwick, Mr. Turner, or Tara Davis at our Family Resource Center. These needs may be related to supplies, food, housing, transportation, support groups, affects of incarceration and more. We are here to help your student and YOU!
